Amsterdam, 12 September 1994
Dear Reader,
Sadly do I have to announce the sudden death of the founder/editor Tony DeRosa of Trash In The Streets. Last Saturday, 10 September, he died at the age of 55 in the Prinsengracht Hospital in Amsterdam. He has lived an artistic and rich life. In the last few weeks of his illness, he was surrounded by bis closest friends.
We will miss him.
According to bis last wish Trash In The Streets will remain to exist. As his deputy editor and with given permission by his family, will l, together with the staff of Trash In The Streets, make sure that his paper will last a long life.
We will make him proud.
On Tuesday, 13 September, a Memorial Service wiII be held in the Stablemaster Bar, Warmoesstraat 23 in Amsterdam. The Service will start at 8 pm. In the current issue of Trash In The Streets, issue 30, Tony wrote an article on "Should Gay Amsterdam 'Adopt' The Prinsengracht Hospital". We will found a foundation to make this happen. Donations to this foundation will be much appreciated. Our bankaccount is ABN/AMRO 54.53.53.378 (giro 6269) of Trash In The Streets/Memorial.
It is also possible to put an Orbituary in the next issue or if you feel the need to write us a letter.
With kind regards,
Jacques Happe
