Pascal Favris (1961-1998)

On April 17, Pascal Favris, a barkeeper at Club Jaecques and one of the most colorful people on Amsterdam's Warmoesstraat, died in his adopted country, the Netherlands. Colorful not only because of his personality, but because his whole body was covered with tattoos, as photographs by Stefan Richter in his book Hidden Exposures show. Many of these tattoos were created by tattoo artist Mr. Ronald, who was a close friend of him.

Pascal Favris,

Pascal F. Favris was born on June 6, 1961, in a small village in Normandy, France. As many gay men before and after him he was drawn to the big city. But Paris wasn't free enough for him, so he decided to move to Amsterdam and he got a job at Rob's Leather. After some years he found his place behind the bar of Club Jaecques, first in the bar upstairs, where he created his own special atmosphere, and later downstairs.

In 1996, after living in the Netherlands for ten years, he officially became a Dutch citizen, which gave him great joy. It was his final wish that he be laid to rest in his beloved city Amsterdam.
